As a certified health counselor, I help women to make the
changes they desire to live full, healthy, joyful lives. We can create strong,
healthy bodies by eating fresh, whole foods, enhancing our nutrition and
including fresh air and exercise we enjoy. By creating balance in all areas of
our lives, from foods and supplements to relationships and careers, we can
reduce stress and achieve renewed vitality. I encourage my clients to live as
big a life as they can conceive and to savor the wonderful sampling of delicious
experiences life holds for each of us.
I chose this profession to create balance in my own life and
practice what inspires me most--helping other women to feel and look terrific,
while expressing their highest selves! Seeing a loved one's life greatly
diminished by disease, I was determined to strengthen my own mind, body and
spirit to live large--not the typical fame and fortune kind of large, but in
doing whatever it takes to authentically express the soul that came into this
world in the way I live my life. I believe it all starts with a foundation of
health. Then, like the conch shell in the sea, our well being spirals outward
to
include greater, more fantastic living and growing experiences for a bigger and
better life.
I advise my clients that I am a little bit
coach, counselor and teacher. We start with healthy eating, then look at life
satisfaction in all areas, and learn how to live in balance through a variety
of
tools and venues (individual or group counseling, classes, DVDs, Potluck
Dinners, handouts, CDs, my overflowing lending library and much more). I utilize
a background that includes a Master's in Public Health from Boston
University, with a concentration in Behavioral Change; a BA in Journalism from
Oakland University; and a BS in Psychology
from Grand Valley State University; as well as my more recent Certification as
a
Holistic Health Counselor from The Institute for Integrative Nutrition and
Columbia University in New York City.
I also apply my own behavioral change process to support you in your health
goals for mind/body/spirit. We all know life is short. Chronic conditions brought
on by
poor lifestyle
and eating habits, genetics, environment or even menopausal symptoms don’t have
to be endured. If you are willing to make the
commitment and approach this with an open mind,
I would be honored to coach you through the process of making your body well and
your life well worth living.
